1768-1793. French Girondin (right-wing
republican during the French Revolution).
After the overthrow of the Girondins by the
more extreme Jacobins May 1793, she stabbed
to death the Jacobin leader, Marat, with a
bread knife as he sat in his bath in July of
the same year. She was guillotined.
