in child and mental development, he argued in
The Young Delinquent 1925 the importance of
social and environmental factors in
delinquency. After his death it was
discovered that he falsified some of his
experimental results in an attempt to prove
his theory that intelligence is largely
inherited. In 1989 this evidence of his guilt
was further questioned.
