1507-1536. Queen of England, the woman for
whom Henry VIII broke with the pope and
founded the Church of England (see
Reformation). Second wife of Henry, she was
married to him in 1533 and gave birth to the
future Queen Elizabeth I in the same year.
Accused of adultery and incest with her
half-brother (a charge invented by Thomas
Cromwell), she was beheaded.
