producer, formerly a critic. The Last Picture
Show 1971 was followed by two films that
attempted to capture the style of old
Hollywood, What's Up Doc? 1972 and Paper Moon
1973. Both made money but neither was a
critical success. In 1990 he made Texasville,
a follow-up to The Last Picture Show.
