Adams, Richard 1920- .
English novelist. A civil servant 1948-72, he
wrote Watership Down 1972, a tale of a rabbit
community, which is read by adults and
children. Later novels include Shardik 1974,
The Plague Dogs 1977, and Girl on a Swing
1980.
