Beriosova, Svetlana 1932- . British
ballerina. Born in Lithuania and brought up
partly in the USA, she danced with the Royal
Ballet from 1952. Her style had a lyrical
dignity and she excelled in The Lady and the
Fool, Ondine, and Giselle.
