Ben Barka, Mehdi 1920-1965. Moroccan
politician. He became president of the
National Consultative Assembly in 1956 on the
country's independence from France. He was
assassinated in France. The case disturbed
Franco-Moroccan relations, and led to de
Gaulle's reorganization of the French secret
service.
