Barocci, Federico c. 1535-1612. Italian
artist, born and based in Urbino. He painted
religious themes in a highly coloured,
sensitive style that falls between
Renaissance and Baroque. The Madonna del
Graffo (National Gallery, London) shows the
influence of Raphael (also from Urbino) and
Correggio on his art.
