1824-1896. Austrian Romantic composer. He was
cathedral organist at Linz 1856-68, and from
1868 he was professor at the Vienna
Conservatoire. His works include many choral
pieces and ten symphonies, the last
unfinished. His compositions were influenced
by Richard Wagner and Beethoven.
