1870-1932. Australian Symbolist poet,
influenced by Baudelaire and Mallarme.
Although one of Australia's greatest poets,
he is virtually unknown outside his native
country. His complex, idiosyncratic verse
includes Poems 1914 and A Chant of Doom and
Other Verses 1918.
