Area of 2,000 ha/5,000 acres in Humberside,
England, bounded by the Trent, Don, Idle, and
Torne rivers, where a form of `medieval' 
open-field strip farming is still practised.
The largest village, Epworth, is the 
birthplace of the Methodist John Wesley.
