1858-1937. Indian physicist and plant
physiologist. Born near Dakha, he was
professor of physical science at Calcutta
1885-1915, and studied the growth and minute
movements of plants, and their reaction to
electrical stimuli. He founded the Bose
Research Institute, Calcutta.
