INTRODUCTION
------------
 This single disc version of the Award Construction Kit contains only a very
small selection from the ever growing main kit and its data discs. You are
encouraged to appraise the kit at your leisure and decide for yourself if you
wish to register as a user and receive the full program. The first version of
ACK was released as a commercial product but the costs involved were
prohibitive and I did not think the selling price fair on the end users.
Since then the program has received a revamp and by distributing it in this
fashion I hope to give the users a fair program at a fair price.

BEFORE YOU START
----------------
 Before you run the main ACK program you must set the printer and printer
graphics preferences to the settings required by your system.

Here are some tips if you are unsure of how to go about this:-

1) Double click on the prefs icon and then on the printer icon.
2) First select the correct driver for your printer by scrolling up or down
   the selection included. If the correct driver for your printer is not
   included on the list then it will have to be copied from your workbench
   extras disc (or some other source) to the Devs/Printer directory of this
   disc and the previous step repeated.
3) Some care should now be taken to set up your size of paper, graphic dump
   and density settings, since the final size and quality of output will
   depend solely on these settings.
4) If you are unfamiliar with the setting of the printer graphics preferences
   here are a few suggested base settings:-

	ASPECT     - Horizontal			IMAGE     - Positive
	SHADE      - Grey 1 or Colour		SMOOTHING - On
	CENTRE PIC - On				DITHERING - Halftone
	SCALING    - Integer			LIMITS    - Ignore
	DENSITY    - consult your manual for the highest density supported.

5) When ready save these base settings for future use.
6) Now you should be able to print out the following quick instructions.

QUICK INSTRUCTIONS 
------------------
1) Double click on the Award-Kit Icon. The program will load and you will be 
   presented with the Style selection screen
2) Select a style number by dragging the slider along the bar or by clicking
   once on either side of the slider to step up or down one position.
3) Click on "OK" when ready to load in the chosen style number and display
   the main editing panel.
4) Click on the button of your choice and just follow your creative instincts.
5) If desired you can toggle between the workbench and the Award Kit by 
   pressing the left amiga + n keys. (Perhaps to read these instructions or
   access the printer preferences)
6) IMPORTANT:- Before clicking on the print button ensure that the correct
   size of paper is loaded and that the printer is 'READY' or 'ON-LINE'.
7) Full instruction booklet is supplied with the registered version.

Please note that the registered version of this program and it's data discs
are copyright and may not be freely distributed in any form.

If you decide to register for the full Kit you will receive:-

   The ACK version 2 (hard drive installable) main program disc.
   The ACK-Data-1 disc containing:-

	12 Blank Awards of various shapes
	 6 Headline Fonts
	 8 Body text fonts

	Instruction booklet with illustrations of the borders, seals etc.

 Registration costs £7.95 (UK) and includes post and packing.
