AMIGA PRINTER DRIVERS INSTALLATION DISK Please read the following instructions carefully and then follow the steps exactly as described within the INSTALLATION section. We STRONGLY advise that you print this file, simply click on the PRINT FILE option below. Make sure that your printer is attached, has paper in it and is switched on/on-line. The installation procedure is in fact very simple. Once installed on the disk of your choice simply load Preferences and select the driver you have installed from the list of printers. The program Preferences is covered in the Amiga owners manuals, you will need to get familiar with this program to master the fine tuning configuration of your printer. Inside each drawer there is another README file. This file contains additional advice, hints, installation details etc, on particular models of printers. To see this file just double click on the icon and it will appear. The information in this file is well worth reading. If you want to print the file just select Print File from the bottom of the screen, bear in mind the printer settings will be taken from the disk you booted with so make sure you have the correct driver installed otherwise you may get some unpredictably output. INSTALLATION 1. Reset the machine and load the disk you want to install the driver onto. If you have a hard drive let the hard drive boot itself. 2. When Workbench appears place this drivers disk into a disk drive and double click on its disk icon. 3. Now double click on the drawer that matches your make of printer, Citizen or Seikosha. 4. READ THE README FILE INSIDE YOUR CHOSEN DIRECTORY. 5. Double click on the icon that matches your model of printer. The system will, if needed, ask for the disk you booted with and the driver will be copied. TROUBLESHOOTING 1. If you get a requestor explaining that your destination disk is full, then you will need to delete something from the destination disk in order to make room for the printer driver. Please refer to your User Manual to find out more about deleting files. 2. The printer drivers supplied on this disk will work only with Workbench 1.3 and programs that use the drivers found on Workbench 1.3. Older programs used Workbench 1.2 drivers. If you still have version 1.2 of the Workbench, then we would strongly advise that you upgrade to version 1.3. This upgrade is available from your local Amiga dealer. If you have problems in locating a dealer that is local to you, then contact the Amiga Helpline on 081 302 8383. If you have a program that uses Workbench 1.2, ie Deluxe Paint II, then an easy solution is to boot your system with your Workbench 1.3 disk and load the program from there. This will tell the program when printing to get its printer setting from the disk you booted with, Workbench.
