INTRODUCTION:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 This program (as the name suggests) enables you to change the layout of
the league which is used in the main program. This means that the main
program will NOT need to be upgraded for each new season. I was appalled
when a little bird told me about another software package that had to be
returned for promotion/relegation updating at the end of each season. And
on top of that, they charge a ludicrous £5.00 for the privilege!!!
 The above package shall remain nameless for two reasons. Firstly... I
would not dream of directly slagging off other programs. And Secondly...
The little bird didn't tell me the name.
 Because this program gives you so much control over your league, I
strongly suggest that you get to know the program and ALL it's features,
before you really need to use it. As long as you don't save the data, then
nothing can go wrong with your original league data (don't quote me on
that).
                                 -1.1-
Do I only use it between seasons?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 The 'League Editor' can be used at any time during the season. For
instance, if you should fail to enter any results into the main program,
then you can use this add-on to update the table data using a Sunday paper.
It must be stressed that it is best to enter results as they happen,
otherwise the form guide will not be correctly updated. So use this feature
as a last resort.
 In fact, any of the features offered by this add-on can be used mid-
season. The only problems would arise from changing team names, this would
affect any schedules that you might have previously made that include the
changed teams name. If you try to load an affected schedule into the main
program, then any fixtures containing the (now unrecognised) team name
would be skipped. Try loading the schedule into the 'Schedule Editor' (it
WILL read rogue fixtures) and then delete and re-enter the offending
fixture/s.

                                 -1.2-

LOADING
~~~~~~~
 This add-on can be loaded via the main 'Pools-Wizard' program by selecting
the 'Schedule Editor' option in the 'Extras' menu.
 It is important to realize that although you can load this add-on from the
main program, it is in fact a completely independent program in it's own
right. When you use this add-on you are, in effect quitting the main
program and loading this one. As such, any data you have entered into the
main program will be lost (although you will be warned first).
                                  -2-
MAIN SCREEN:
 The main screen is very similar to the main 'Pools-Wizard' screen. The
only differences being a tighter use of space. This means less work for
you, getting to know the program, and less work for me, programming it.
                                 -2.1-
The Project menu:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Load Default League:

 This loads a back-up league from the disk. The file is set for the start
of the season. It's sole purpose is to act as a starting point, if anything
nasty should happen to your original data.

Save Data:

  Saves the tables currently in memory.

NOTE: This function is irreversible!!!.

Revert:

 Reverts to last saved tables.

Exit:

 Exits from 'League Editor' and reloads the main program. Just like
selecting exit from the result/prediction screen in the main program.

Quit to DOS:

 Just like selecting quit from the main program.

                                 -2.2-

The Display Tables menu:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Displays the chosen table on screen.
 The layout is identical to the main program.
Reset All Divisions:
 Resets all the teams stat's. This is ideal for starting a new season.
                                  -3-
Keyboard Equivalents
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Once you get to know the program you may wish to use keyboard equivalents
instead of going to the menus every time. All keyboard short-cuts are
listed alongside its menu equivalent.

                                  -4-

Gadgets
~~~~~~~
 Gadgets (or buttons if you like) are where the real power of this program
lies. Just click on them with the left mouse button and then release.
 NOTE: You must make sure that the mouse pointer is still over the on-
screen button when you release. This is because the buttons have a last
ditch safety feature. So even if you activate a button by mistake, you can
still abort the procedure by moving the pointer away from the button before
releasing.
                                 -4.1-
Division
~~~~~~~~

 1 to Total number of divisions (max 10):

 Perform one of two possible tasks, depending on how the following buttons
are set.

View:

 View the division at the location selected with the button. The same as
using the menus or function keys.

Add:

 Insert a new division at the location selected with the button. If you
choose an existing division, then the old one (and any following it) will
be incremented. The new division will be given a default name and contain a
single team, also with a default name.
 Division names can be changed by clicking in the box containing the
division name. A maximum of 39 characters can be used. Remember to press
'Return' after entering the name. If you want to leave the box without
changing the name, then just click with the mouse pointer outside of the
box.

NOTE: Once you add a division, you will be returned to view mode. Hopefully
this will prevent you from accidentally adding divisions all over the
place.

Reset:

 Resets all the teams stat's. This is the same as 'Reset All Divisions'
from the 'Display Table' menu, except that it only affects the current
division.

Delete:

 Deletes the current division. If there are any divisions after the one you
deleted, then they will be decremented.

NOTE: Due to the structure of the divisions, this may take some time. So
please be patient.

                                 -4.2-

Number of Teams
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Add Team:
 Creates a new team in the current division. This team will have a default
name and all stat's set to zero.
NOTE: The maximum number of teams you can have in a division is 26.
For any of the following six options you can use the up/down arrows which
are positioned next to them. Alternately click on the value itself (the
little blue box), and you can enter the new figure directly.
Promoted:
 Controls the white line that indicates how many teams are promoted.
Play-off:
 Controls the white line that indicates how many teams are in the play-
offs.
Relegated:
 Controls the white line that indicates how many teams are relegated.
NOTE: The above options are merely cosmetic and serve no purpose apart from
conveying obvious information to you, the user. It had been my intention to
have some sort of automatic promotion/relegation system which would make
use of these features. But I decided against it because this would cause
havoc in your leagues with teams being relegated from division four and
ending up in the Scottish Premier Division and so on! This would be made
worse if you were to add non-league divisions. At least you only have to do
this once a season, so it's not all that bad.
                                 -4.3-
Points Awarded
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Win:

 Number of points awarded to a team for winning.
Draw:

 Number of points awarded to a team for a draw.

Lose:

 Yes, a team can even get points for losing (just in case)!!!

NOTE: After any changes, the points for each team in the current division
will be recalculated. This process takes a little while.
 Points can be negative as well as positive.

                                 -4.4-

Position Priority
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goal Difference:
 If the points of two teams are the same, then goal difference is the next
thing taken into account.
Goals Scored:
 If the points of two teams are the same, then the amount of goals scored
is the next thing taken into account.
NOTE: When changing a divisions priority, all the teams positions for that
division, will be re-evaluated.
                                 -4.5-
Other Gadgets
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The last four features are achieved by clicking on the required button
(these buttons are located on each side of the table window) and then
selecting the team you wish to carry out the action on. This works in the
same way as the main program. First move the mouse pointer over the table
window. A black bar will highlight the team nearest to the pointer.
Clicking the left mouse button will then cause the appropriate action to
occur.

Edit:

This allows you to enter new stat's for the selected team. A window similar
to the one in the main program will appear.

 The layout is the same as the Sunday papers.

               HOME             AWAY

     Pld   W  D  L  F  A    W  D  L  F  A    Pts

      G    G  G  G  G  G    G  G  G  G  G     P
      A    A  A  A  O  O    A  A  A  O  O     O
      M    M  M  M  A  A    M  M  M  A  A     I
      E    E  E  E  L  L    E  E  E  L  L     N
      S    S  S  S  S  S    S  S  S  S  S     T
                                              S
      P    W  D  L  F  A    W  D  L  F  A
      L    O  R  O  O  G    O  R  O  O  G
      A    N  A  S  R  A    N  A  S  R  A
      Y       W  T     I       W  T     I
      E       N        N       N        N
      D                S                S

 To enter new stat's, position the mouse pointer inside the blue box just
below the stat you wish to change and click the left mouse button. A cursor
will appear. Now input the new stat and press 'Return'. Notice how the
cursor moves into the next box (unless you input new 'AA' (away goals
against)), ready for you to enter the next stat. This is for the sake of
speed when entering a full line of stat's. If you press 'Return' while a
box is selected without entering anything, then a '0' will be taken as the
input. This is also for the sake of speed.

 When you are happy with your new stat's click on the 'OK' button. The
window will close and the new stat's will replace the old one's. If you are
not happy with the new stat's then click on the 'CANCEL' button. The old
stat's will be retained.

NOTES: The number of games played and the amount of points are
automatically worked out by the program.
 If you are entering three figures into a box then you do not have to press
'Return', as this will happen automatically.

You are free to move from one box to another at any time by clicking on the
new box. But remember that the current box (where the cursor is) will be
left blank. This will also blank the new box (which is handy if you make a
mistake).
 For the reasons given above it is advisable to always work from left to
right.

 It is important to remember that no stat's are permanent until you click
on the 'OK' button.

 Team names can also be changed by clicking in the box under the old team
name. A maximum of thirteen characters can be used.
 Changing team names can affect your schedules (see introduction)

Delete:

 Enables you to delete a team and accompanying statistics.

Promote:

 Enables you to promote a team to the next division up (Division One to the
Premier League for example).

Relegate:

 Enables you to relegate a team to the next division down (the Premier
League to Division One for example).

NOTE: There are certain limits which affect the above three options. A
division can have a maximum of 26 and a minimum of 1 teams at any one time.
