Read_Me_First.doc (C)1994 P.D.Turner. Just a short note to welcome you to the latest update to The Designer. See the "History.doc" to see changes from last release. (V2.12). This is a cut-down version of The Designer for evaluation purposes. All the save options have been disabled. To obtain a copy of the complete program you should send £5 in the UK or £7 if you live outside the UK, to the address below. OR... Now, I've thought long and hard about this next bit! I am now willing to supply copies of the source code for The Designer. The source disk contains all source code and gfx data and is exactly the same as that which I use, with the following additions... A file to breifly explain what all the modules are about and how to re-assemble them. An additional directory containing the source and executable of a small "make" program, which automates re-assembly. So, the price! £10 in the UK or £12 if you live outside the UK. For your money you will get two (yes TWO!) disks... Disk 1: The Designer V2.13. Exactly the same as what you get for your five pounds! (This is is actally given FREE! Just incase you have any problems assembling the source code.) Disk 2: The assembly language source code etc as explained above. (Also contains a directory of all the files assembled ready for linking). Please do not send any foreign currencies. Make all cheques and postal orders etc, payable to: P.D.Turner. Address: 21 Langton Avenue Chelmsford Essex CM1 2BW England Note: The documentation and examples on this disk are exactly the same as those on the full version. So if you want to print out the main .doc file each page is 60 lines long. Version 2 now contains everything included in the V2 spec. So I now feel that version 2 has been taken far as possible without major additions. I will not be releasing any more V2's. I am now looking at ideas for version three, which will be the next release. Version 3 will probably be another major re-write, so I am willing to consider putting anything in there! I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any suggestions. Anyone who suggests an idea which gets used will be credited in the program, and will possibly get a FREE copy! (As long as they've bought a registered copy at some time). Current ideas for version 3 include... * A built in tile editor. * A library of routines to allow easy use of maps. * A set of assembly routines for people to use or base thier own stuff around. * AGA support. * A mechanism for animated backgrounds. Send ideas etc to the address above. !!!! DISCLAIMER !!!! Although I have tried to get everything right, I cannot guarantee anything that has been said in any file on this disk. You use this program at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by the use of this program. Having said the above, there are currently no known bugs. So if you find one write to me at the above address.
