IFF2Script -- Convert IFF bitmaps to Sculpt 3D/4D script files with
     this program by Eric Cosky.  Click on an IFF picture icon then hold the
     SHIFT key and double-click on the IFF2Script icon.  This will create a
     .script file for Sculpt in the same directory as the picture, and with
     ".script" appended to the name.  If you like, you can set the picture
     icon's tooltypes to toggle vertical and horizontal merging. Just add
     NOMERGE=Horizontal (or Vertical or Both) to the picture Icon's tool-
     types.  Merging consolidates same color polygons creating smaller files
     sizes, but is somewhat less accurate.

     To use this program from the CLI type:

         IFF2Script [-v|h] <iffname> [<script name>]

     When run from the CLI, this program will tell you when it's finished.
     From the Workbench, IFF2Script will flash the screen once when it
     begins to work and again when it's done.  Loading the script in Sculpt
     can take a long time and while Sculpt is executing the script, it gives
     no indication that it is busy... so be patient. C Language source code
     for IFF2Script is included.



Iff2Geo
      This program will read an IFF format picture file and produce a 3-D
   object in the .geo format used by Aegis Modeler 3D and Videoscape 3D.  The
   pixels in the picture are simply converted to flat polygons.  Further
   processing (sizing, rotating, extrusion, etc.) may be done from your 3D
   object editor (e.g. Modeler 3D).  This program is especially useful for
   moving signs and lettering in your favorite bitmap font into the 3D object
   environment.  It may also produce some wild results with fractal pictures
   and such... please experiment and enjoy.  We are grateful for feedback and
   any interesting results!

       Iff2Geo is run from the CLI. Simply give it the name of an IFF picture
   file and the name of the object file you want to create:

       Iff2Geo <iffname> <geo.filename>

       This command will send the object produced from the picture on the RAM
   disk to the file letters.geo on df1:.  Be aware that the objects can be
   MUCH larger than their IFF counterparts... so have lots of room on your
   disk!  In addition, the program itself needs a huge chunk of memory to do
   the conversion.  It is recommended that pictures be saved as brushes which
   are as small as possible.  A tedious but useful technique would be to cut
   each letter out of a picture of some text (using DPaint for example) and
   save it as a small brush named A.pic or some such, then convert each of
   these letters into a .geo object.

       One further note:  Since colors 3,5,11, and 13 are -unused- by
   Videoscape 3d, if you have an IFF file that uses those color registers
   then the resulting polygons will -not- be displayed by Videoscape 3D
   because the color assigned to the polygon is the color register of the
   corresponding pixel.
