SID DOCUMENTATION

As there are so many 'pages' in this directory I haven't made lots of
icons.	Instead I reckon PPMore is ideal.  Click on its icon and make
your selection!

SID KICKSTART 2.04 COMPATIBILITY

Don't believe everything that you read about SID's compatibility with
the new Kickstart chip.  In the December 1991 issue of Amiga News (the
French Amiga mag) SID is cited as not working under AmigaDOS 2.04
(along with DirWork, a similar, but limited utility) - to quote the
author of the article "seuls deux ont mal apprecie la transition: il
s'agit de SID et de DirWork...".

Actually SID does work pretty well under system 2.04, but has a
peculiar flicker between it's own window and either the workbench or
SID's own process window.  It's annoying sometimes (especially as I
can't work out why it does it - it only seems to do it when an error
occurs, such as trying to view a file that no longer exists - the
process window is used to echo the error message), but it doesn't
prevent SID from remaining the best PD directory utility around.

You will find that DirWork and DiskMaster3.0 will not work under
Kickstart 2.0, but that the various versions of ClickDos will.	Heaven
only knows why.
