Wilkinson 1992/93 * * Shareware Version * ****************************************************************** Astro_22 as released is a program which accurately calculates the position of the planets, cusps and zodiac positions to within 30 Minutes of arc. I intend to increase the usefulness of the program to eventually cover all aspects of the subject which will appeal to professional as well as novice astrologers at a price which is affordable. The program is designed for ease of use thus enabling Astrologers to access needed data in seconds without fumbling through too many menu systems, prompts and windows. In the full version a chart may be checked for applying Transits; Progressed; Tertiary aspects noted etc. All within a few seconds. Aspects may be viewed in any of three modes: Grid format, tabulated or Graphic. Any work screen may be updated in time increments or decrements, even progressed charts. All data may be output to a disk file or to the printer. Above all the calculations are accurate and any check against an Ephemeris will confirm this. Several add-on modules are already available for release and details of these can be found in the 'MODULES.TXT' file on disk. Initial instructions on using Astro_22 may be read from the 'PROGRAM.INFO.TXT file. The above files may be viewed on screen from within the program by selecting this option from the HELP menu. The advantage of the extra modules is that One only needs to purchase the parts which are suitable for present personal requirements. Those with only a casual interest is Astrology can derive great pleasure from producing personalised character profiles for family & friends using the 'Character Analysis Module' and and by assessing future trends with the 'Prediction Module.' The text files are in the region of 300K and can be added to by the user. Those who have no knowledge of Astrology will are advised to borrow books from the library as supplementary reading. The hard part of astrology, namely calculating the chart, is done by Astro_22. The more experienced astrologers will immediately recognise the potential of Astro_22 and will derive great pleasure from its use. The shaded menu options are disabled, intended for use with the add-on modules. I trust this program will be of use to those with an interest in the subject of astrology and suggestions for improvement or modification will be gratefully received and implemented wherever possible. To install the program onto a hard drive follow the instructions given in the 'Program.info' text file which may be viewed or printed from the 'Help' menu. Astro.22 Version 3.0 ---------------------- Astro.22 has recently been upgraded to v3 and the registered copy now runs in 1 Meg. of memory. The following features not included in previous issues are: 1. Improved graphics throughout. 2. Routines have been added to planetary calculations to ensure greater accuracy to 4000BC. 3. A 'Setup' screen has been added to the program which allows any configuration of planets, aspects and orb settings to be selected from within this option. You may select Active Planets, Aspected Planets, Active Aspects and New Orb Values. Orb settings may be saved to disk as the default. 4. Keyboard hotkeys for the most commonly used menu items. 5. Hard drive support. The program may be configured to run from any hard drive unit. The following improvements are included to the existing range of add- on modules: 1. Aspect Grid: Now shows Parallels and Contra-parallels. 2. Place of Birth has been added to the New Chart Option which is displayed on screen. If the chart is subsequently saved the Latitude, Longitude and Place name are added to Lat_Long database - if not already present. 3. Save,Load and Delete Files has been completely rewritten to allow ease of use with large data files. Seventy Two chart names may be viewed on screen at any time and files of up to Five Hundred names can be handled with ease. 4. Progressed Module: Now has the option of viewing charts through the tradition method of holding the Progressed Ascendant and moving this point by approximately one degree per cycle. 5. The program now supports sixteen aspect types. New inclusions are Vigintile, Quintile, Septile, Tridecile, Biquintile and Nonagon. 6. Chart rotation has been added to the 'Cusps' module allowing any planet to be rotated to the Ascendant position. The Following new modules are available for V3 of Astro.22. -------------------------------------------------------------- ASPECT SEARCH MODULE Transit, Progressed and Solar Arc Search: This module gives an accurate listing of the planetary aspects over any given period and the exact time of any event - in any of the three systems. The Progressed Search lists 'Progressed to Progressed' and 'Progressed to Natal' aspects. All three routines show Sign and Natal house position of the Transiting and Aspected planets, also the natal relationship between the two planets. Text may be included with the listings if the 'Prediction Module' is active. SOLAR AND LUNAR RETURNS This module creates a chart for the exact moment that the Sun or Moon reaches its natal position at birth, forward of the selected date. The Solar return chart reflecting the whole of the coming year and the Lunar return reflecting the coming month. EPHEMERIS AND ASPECTARIAN 1.EPHEMERIS: This module presents a tabulated listing of planetary positions calculated at NOON or MIDNIGHT for any geographical location. The number of planets calculated is determined through the 'Setup' option of active planets. The default is eleven which includes the Moon's Node. 2.ASPECTARIAN: It is useful to know the exact time that specific events occur at a given location. Or to compile a list of events through a time period. This routine gives a sequential listing of planetary aspects which includes the closeness of orb of conjunctions by DECLINATION, retrograde planets and aspect strength.
