SOLO SQUASH =========== Ok it's Crap, unoriginal, there's no sound, the graphics are pathetic, but it does have a small amount of addictive playability in there somewhere. Now I have got that that off my chest you can't whinge about the game. Firstly I must acknowledge the original AMOS source code for this game was in the Amiga Format Feb 1993 edition. I then played around with it and have changed it quite a bit to give a one player game with a bit of a reason for wanting to play further. The original code had two bats at either side that where controlled by the same player, and the game ended when you missed the ball. So now a bit of info about my actual version. Try to keep the bouncing ball inside the screen by using the bat which is controlled by the mouse. Every time you hit the ball with the bat the bat moves closer to the far wall (It does not move all the way upto the wall). You get points also every time the ball hits the bat (the amount of points are dependant on the speed of the ball). The more points you get the higher the random number can be that effects the speed of the ball. I thought it more fun if the speed of the ball changed to a random every time the bat hit the ball. So therefor as the bat gets closer to the wall the speed of the ball is getting faster makeing it harder and harder. Beating the High Score is not that hard. A mate of mine Tony got 290 but I have set the built in High Score to 150. That's about all there is to say about the game. I do plan to greatly enhance the game with 1-4 players, Different screens, Sound, Multible Balls OHoooeeer!, and many other options. I will also smarten up collision detection and change the rebound values of the bat (If you hit the ball with the top of the bat then the ball goes up. etc.). Once Again this Program is Public Domain and was written using AMOS Basic. Asta la Vista - Te amo Sandra Gary Henderson (15/2/1993)
