MOST V1.2 by Richard Wynn Copyright (c) 1988,89  *************************************************************************  MOST is a text/IFF display utility which will display not only standard ascii files, but also crunched ascii text and crunched IFF files. Using the current compression algorithm, we are able to compress files to about 60 percent of their original size. Version 1.2 now handles text with ANSI escape codes, and has an improved text routine. The program now recognises NTSC machines and will adjust its display accordingly - Apologies to any owners of early 1000s ! One of the program's aims was to offer a small text and graphics viewer that is easy to use. With this in mind, MOST was developed to utilise both keyboard, mouse and menu operations. When run from workbench, the program will open an output window to display the file name and some information about that files size before and after compression. The following is a brief overview of the operations of MOST.  MENUS: -----  SAVE PAGE/FILE : As all the files on MEGADISC have been crunched and saved as binary code, this feature was added to enable you to save part or all of a file as ascii text. Save Page saves only what is currently visible on the screen. Simply click in the string gadget, enter the save-file's name and hit return. If a file of that name already exists, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it. PRINT PAGE/FILE : This will redirect either the whole file or the current page to your printer (ie, use this if you want to print just one file rather than the lot as the PRINTALLFILES icon will do). QUIT: Exit the program FWRD PAGE : Display next page of file BKWD PAGE : Display previous page FWRD LINE : Scroll forward one line BKWD LINE : Scroll backward one line TOP OF FILE : Display first page of file END OF FILE : Display last page COLOUR : Select your screen and text colours NEWCLI : Opens a CLI window. Make sure you have NEWCLI in your C: directory SEARCH : Opens a requester for you to enter the search string. Click in the gadget and type the string you are seeking, then hit return or click the Search gadget. MOST searchs forward from the top of the currrent page and will display the line containing the match at the top of the screen. Future revisions will include reverse direction . MOST KEYS : Displays a list of the keyboard commands which are as follows  KEYBOARD: --------  - The DELete key iconises the window to give you access to the workbench screen. Typing DEL again will restore the window. - Forward Page - Forward Line - Backward Page / - Displays Search requester N - Next match ; ie continue search from last matched string OR Q - Exit MOST - Displays the above commands < RIGHT Arrow > - Forward page < LEFT Arrow > - Backward page < UP Arrow > - Previous line < DOWN Arrow > - Next line  GADGETS: -------  Selecting the UP and DOWN arrows will scroll text one line. Holding down the left mouse button will continue to scroll the text. Clicking on either side of the slider knob advances one page. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Future versions of MOST will include Load/Save File requester and display of standard IFF graphics.
