Sunday 13th. June 1802

 Fresh breezes & pleasant weather.

 "Came nearly close in by the land
   at daylight. Passed Botany Bay
  about 8 o'clock a.m. Came in sight
  of the heads of Port Jackson about
   9 or 10 when we perceived the
  colour was hoisted for us,  and
    the pilot came on board.
  The ship was worked up the river
  in the course of the day the wind
  being contrary, and we anchored
  in Sidney Cove about 3 o'clock 
     in the afternoon.

   Tis the finest river I ever saw,
    and the harbour almost beyond 
   comparison. It would contain the
   whole Navy in the World if they
   could be assembled with safety,
  as they are sheltered on all sides
        from the wind."
