   Weighed anchor at Portsmouth
 Harbour at 1 a.m. and got under
  way - had to lay too in the
 channel until 7 a.m due to poor
  visibility and the danger of 
 ships ahead - made full sail at
 7 a.m.- moderate breezes and
 cloudy with wind from N.N.E. -
 abreast of St.Katherines at noon
 - lost sight of the Isle of Wight
 at 4 p.m.
