     Fresh breezes and hazy.

 "Mr.Stubbs sent for in the cabbin,
  where he informed them of having
     had Capt. Kemp's coat and
   panteloons which he had made up 
  for himself, but was told to throw
   them overboard by the shoemaker, 
    which he did. Likewise he was 
 told it was Capt.Kemp's property."

(This is a most unfortunate incident
 involving William Stubbs -
 I have very carefully studied all
 the available facts and believe
 William was either given or bought
 the clothes from some other person
 and he had done so in good faith.
 
 It was not until after discovery
 of the loss that the shoemanker 
 fronted William and told him -
 (a) he should throw the clothes
     overboard.
 (b) the clothes really belonged
     to Captain Kemp.)
