HandyIcons

Purpose:

HandyIcons is a nifty utility that allows you to create a dropdown menu on 
the Workbench screen. You can put tools (like clock, a calculator, terminal 
emulator etc.) in the menu list. Then you can access these tools by clicking 
on the right mouse button, sliding down the HandyIcons menu (right of the 
Special menu) until you highlight the tool you want and release the the right
button to start the application. You can customize your own menus. You will 
never have to open folders on the disks again. Put your favorite (most used 
tools in the list).

Installation:

To install HandyIcons you should drag the icons for the HandyIcons and 
HandyIcons.doc to your workbench disk (I put them in the system drawer). 
Copy the file HandyWB from the c directory on this disk to the c directory
on your Workbench disk. Modify your startup-sequence file on the s directory 
(use your word processor or micro-EMACS) of your Workbench disk by adding 
the line sys:c/HandyWB below the line that contains LoadWB, e.g.,

Now you are ready to install your favorite tools. Select the HandyIcons icon
on your WorkBench disk by clicking on it once with the left mouse button. 
Select the Info item on the Workbench dropdown menu. Add the full pathname
(e.g., sys:system/clock; sys:system/diskcopy; sys:utilities/notepad; etc.)
of the desired tools you want on the menu on the Tool Types line of the info
window. Just type in each name then click on ADD. When your done SAVE the info
file by clicking on SAVE. Then reboot and try out your new menu bar.

Changes:

You can change your menu list anytime by changing the INFO tool tyoe on the
HandyIcons icon. Just replace your old tools with the new ones. Remember to 
reboot after you change the info file to get the new menu. Have fun.
