Tooltypes for the Infrared EX:

REMOTE=Work:Scala/Remotes/Sony.remote

    This sets the full path to the remote control file you want to use
    during editing.

RECORD=Record
PAUSE=Pause

    You only need to train two commands for normal editing. One to start
    recording and one to put the VCR in pause mode.

The CONTINUE tooltype:

  When going from Record-Pause mode to Record mode (at the beginning
  of a video clip) some VCRs require you to send the Pause command,
  while others will use Record (JVC, Akai, ...).

  This tooltype enables you to select the kind of command you need
  for your recorder. The selections are:

CONTINUE=PAUSE

    This is the default; the InfraRed EX will send Pause to continue
    recording at the beginning of a video clip.

CONTINUE=RECORD

    The EX will send Record instead of Pause to start recording.

PLAYER_PREROLL=3:00
PLAYER_POSTROLL=1:00

    Using PLAYER_PREROLL you can control how far before the inpoint you
    want the player to start. The VCR will not go into record before the
    inpoint, but you will always need a few seconds to start the player/
	recorder and get a stable video signal. PLAYER_POSTROLL enables you to
    set the length of time the player continues to roll after the clip is
    finished. None of these settings are very important; you may just want
    to keep the defaults as they are.

RECORDER_PREROLL=1:13
RECORDER_POSTROLL=0:00

    Using RECORDER_PREROLL you can control how far before the inpoint you
    want the recorder to start. 1:13 is fine for using it with a Mitsubishi
    E82 VCR as the recorder. The VCR uses 1 second and 13 frames to actually
    start recording once is has received the record signal. If you always
    lose some frames from the end of each clip, it is possible to make the
    recorder roll a little longer by setting RECORDER_POSTROLL to the number
    of extra frames. If you always get too much, it is possible to set
    RECORDER_POSTROLL to a negative value, but _only_ to the nearest second.
	(i.e. -1:00 -2:00 etc.)

DELAY_VIDEO=1:00
DELAY_GRAPHICS=1:00

    If the Scala graphics, wipes, texts, etc. don't seem to start at the right
    time when using a Genlock, you may need to change these tooltypes.
    DELAY_VIDEO will be used if you have a videoclip in the current event,
    while DELAY_GRAPHICS are used if the event has no videoclip.

FRAMERATE=25 or 30

    You will almost never need to change this value unless you are editing
    both NTSC and PAL video. Set to 25 for PAL and 30 for NTSC.

Tooltypes for the Infrared EX:

SEARCHMODE=FAST or SLOW

    If your player can interpret the command for fast search with picture,
    set the searchmode to FAST. If you use SLOW, the buttons in the LANC
    menu will select the x2 mode instead.

END_CLIP=STOP or PAUSE

    You can select what the player should do at the end of a clip. If you
    are using a genlock it is probably best to set it to STOP, because a
    VCR or camcorder in pause will not generate a good video signal for
    the genlock.

FRAMERATE=25 or 30

    You will almost never need to change this value unless you are editing
    both NTSC and PAL video. Set to 25 for PAL and 30 for NTSC.

Tooltypes for the Infrared Trainer (ScalaEcho):

IRFILTER=ON or OFF

    If you are unable to train your remote control and seem to be getting
    the same signal from all buttons you can try to set IRFILTER to OFF.

    Most remote controls work by repeating the command for as long as
    you hold the button:

        COMMAND....COMMAND....COMMAND....COMMAND....

    Since all the commands are just the same there is not need to store more
    than one of them. When IRFILTER is turned on (default) the trainer will
    extract and store only one of a repeating string of commands.

    Some other remotes send the command string only once, and then a simple
    signal telling the receiver that the button is still being held.

        COMMAND....REPEAT.....REPEAT.....REPEAT.....

    For these types of remotes you need to store all of the signal, so set
    IRFILTER to OFF, to keep it from filtering out the beginning of the
    signal.
