INTRODUCTION

Here's a little suite of files that will give your Amiga all the Professional
Workstation Power that it's been lacking.  No more will UNIX users be able to
scoff at our beloved machine:  Now it has everything their crappy box offers and
more.  So next time you get a flock of Linucters whining about your machine, you
can finally tell them to go FUCK themselves.


REQUIREMENTS

Recommended:
 - AmigaOS 3.0 or better
 - MagicWB palette (8 colours or more)
 - A Computer Jargon Dictionary

Might even work with:
 - AmigaOS 2.0
 - A bit of luck
 - Monochrome or 4-colour display
 - Nothing else


HOW DOES IT WORK?

I discovered that the problem is purely psychological, and this was my first
clue that the solution was psychological too.  The problem was not with the
Amiga or its OS;  it was with brain-damaged UNIX users who kept asking questions
like, "what does it do that my system doesn't?" and "if it's such a good OS, how
come there's no /dev/tty file?".  They just didn't *see* what was there because
they think that every OS is UNIX, and ignore anything that doesn't match that
expectation.

The easiest solution, next to strangling these wretches, was to help them see
things more clearly.  What is wrong with them, you see, is that they distrust
anything that doesn't look familiar.  This was easily solved by creating the
FUCK (Familiar Unix Computing Kernel) consisting of:

        Pointer prefs  (same as with X-Windows)
        Backdrop prefs (same as with X-Windows)

As you see, these have all the advanced features that most UNIX advocates expect
of an OS (key features are noted in parentheses).  This release contains two
versions of the backdrop prefs:

Crossweave-pattern -- standard X-Windows backdrop, though in nicer colours
Crossweave2-pattern -- same, but with decadent backdrop colour for WB windows


USAGE

Easy.  Just double-click on the X-pointer icon, then double-click on either of
the Crossweave-pattern icons.  Note (and be sure to point this out to your UNIX
friends as a Special Feature) that you can do this in any order.


INSTALLATION

Just drag the icons into your SYS:Prefs/Presets drawer, or wherever you like to
have them.  Afterwards, I recommend that you read War and Peace by Leonid
Tolstoy to make up for the time saved by this easy procedure, or they may scoff
at you anyway (this has been reported several times but I've been unable to
reproduce it on my machine).

By way of customization, you may try both backdrops and keep the one that you
like best.

* Add support for do-nothing "-A" option for backward compatibility

* UNIX users may still scoff if installation is too easy (?)
