SH-Ware AvailMem 1.00 Written by Sami Klemola ©1995. All Rights Reserved. This archive brings you a replacement for the standard Avail command, or rather a complimentary tool. I found the figures produced by Avail to be too accurate! I thought that I - and possibly nobody else less programmers - need to know the amount of free memory to the exact amount. So I wrote a command that operates identically with Avail, but gives the information rounded to full kilobytes. I think it is easier to comprehend how much memory there actually is free and in-use as the information is presented in kilobytes. The output of the program looks almost identical to that of Avail, except for the smaller figures: Type Available In-Use Maximum Largest Chip 1912k 134k 2047k 1912k Fast 474k 1061k 1536k 198k Total 2386k 1195k 3583k 2110k However, it is possible to operate sham just like Avail by specifying the option BYTE. When this option is specified, the output will be exact and remind very much that of Avail. This program is freeware and you may use and redistribute it freely, but do not disassemble or change it in any way. The full source code can be requested from the author. Sami Klemola Fleet Commander
