                              JS-Config
                             ===========

JS-Config is a GUI frontend for JS_Toss. It allows you to manipulate
all echo settings (like description, name, readonly, etc) and the
echos your links are connected to. In fakt JS-Config allows you to
work with the area and zone config files.

It also has a simple CLI option which allows a complete check of all
config files, i.e. updating readonly settings or removing locked echos
or deleting unused old are config files and so on.

JS-Config may be started from Workbench or CLI. From Workbench it
opens its GUI window (see below). If started from CLI with no options
it also opens the GUI window. But if you may use a command option to
let it simple work and quit.

This CLI options are supported:

SCAN checks all area and zone config files and correctes them
(e.g. the readonly settings, locked settings, deletes unused
area config files, updates zone config files if so unknown
echos were found - see below in "logical errors")

If you use the GUI window you get many listviews, some string gadgets
and some buttons.

You may choose the zone you want to edit, change the name of areas,
add or remove them or change their description. It is possible to add
or remove lock and readonly patterns for addresses. On the right part
of the window you can select a link address, change its (un)packer,
add or remove areas and change the read-only status. It is not
possible to set a (un)packer for Sysop and BBS.

While the config files are loaded and before they are saved all config
data are checked for logical errors as in SCAN option.

                            Logical errors
                            --------------

A special check routine is started in SCAN mode, after loading the
config files and before saving the configs. This checks all area and
zone configs for readonly and locked settings that are different in
the zone or area configs.

If a link is locked for an area this area is removed for it, if a link
is set readonly for an area by a readonly pattern or the readonly
switch the other one is set, too.

                                Future
                                ------

In later releases there will be a complete config option for the main
config file "MAIL:JS_TOSS.CFG".
