This is the virtual device I use for my message and files data files, makes
the Search features MUCH MUCH faster.  Also has a big effect on the message
base Continuous Read feature.  I didn't use it at first, when the software
and hardware were still getting broken in, but I've been using it for about a
month, now, and except for one blow-it (turned the power off, heh), I haven't
lost anything.  I put a little cardboard cover over the power switch to
remind me, BTW.  I have a Wait scriptfile in my st-seq that copies the
message data files to disk every hour, and the files data files once a day.
Once a week I copy the data files over to a separate backup dir, just in case
something gets corrupted in the meantime.  For what it's worth, no Max's file
of mine has ever gotten corrupted.

  If for some reason I don't want to use SD0, like if I want to keep the
memory free for some online rendering, I have a small Fix scriptfile that
patches in a "BBS" for the "SD0" in the Paths & Opts menu for the message and
files paths, so I don't have to bother manually changing each node.  

  Spoiled?  Yep.
