Short: Use Zyxel's voice features w/ GUI Uploader: rvillari@cat.syr.edu Type: comm/misc This is version 1.19 of ZVM, a voice module that allows one to use a Zyxel modem as an answering machine. It can also communicate with GPFax 2.21 or greater when there is a fax, allowing it to also act as a fax machine, automatically. You can retrieve messages from the outside too. Some of the new features are: - More arexx functions. You can now program the way ZVM handles incoming calls, silent answer, and faxes using the 35+ arexx functions. You can even make your own multi-mailbox voicemail program with the functions that are provided, send arexx messages (perhaps to turn on your lights, flush the toilet -- required hardware not included) to other programs when certain DTMF keys are pressed, etc. - Silent answer feature (ZVM will answer the phone even if you answer it from another line. It will listen for fax tones or a key press from you - Better GUI for playing back messages - Convert iff files to zvm files - Fixed more bugs - Close serial port - Has an icon and can be run from the Workbench - Convert incoming voice files to IFF files - Archive feature lets you save important incoming messages - Record Conversation feature lets you record your current conversation - Smaller windows This is a major upgrade to 1.6. The program is much more programmable now.
