Short: Multi-Format Sampled Sound Player, v1.21 TITLE OmniPlay - A multi-format sound player for AmigaDOS VERSION 1.21, 29 Oct 1992 DESCRIPTION OmniPlay plays samples sounds from a variety of sound file formats, including IFF-8svx, aiff, WAV, VOC, .au, .snd, and 8-bit raw (signed, unsigned, u-law). In addition, PowerPacked sounds can be played if you have v34+ of powerpacker.library installed. OmniPlay determines the type of sound it's dealing with automagically, so the minimum command is "oplay somesound". This works on *any* file, although raw files might sound better if you specify a rate. Options control rate, volume, output audio channel, wait-time between sounds, process priority, printing of sound properties (such as IFF NAME, AUTH, etc.), and more. Options are sequenced, not pre-scanned, so two files can have different option sets. REQUIREMENTS A sampled sound file. If you wish to PowerPack sounds, you should have powerpacker.library (not included) in your libs: directory. CHANGES (since v1.10) - Some routines in OmniPlay used Kickstart 2.0+ system calls. This made playback of raw and .voc files impossible on an Amiga running less than v2.0 or the OS. This has been fixed, and, for the time being, OmniPlay should be fully functional on an 1.3 Amiga. - The OMNIPLAY environment variable now allows the user to set personal defaults. - "-O" option allows the environment to specify output to a file or window in the same way a shell redirection does. - Now reads PowerPacked files correctly (older versions were limited to no more than one consecutive PP sound file) - "-a" option did not behave the way the documentation said it did. Now it does. - new "-i" option will display more info on a sound file than was previously shown. - new "-W" option writes the sound you hear (that is, after any rate or volume changes, format conversion, or amplification) into an IFF-8SVX file.
