LRH is a small hack inspired by several things: - Leo Schwab's good ol' hacks from way back when... - North American DevCon '91 in Denver ('specially that `presentation' on the hallway... and later that crowd of maniacs roaming the streets of Denver before and after Commedy Works ... :-> ) - Stefan Becker's ResetHandler - My TV is in repair, giving me some extra time... It installs a special handler that will be called upon pressing those three magic keys on your Amiga-Keyboard, which usually results in a slight color and contents change on your monitor. Also, it sometimes leads to an extended boot time for freshmen on the Amiga... :-) Stefan Becker's ResetHandler was quite nice, but BORING. I don't need to have a window counting down to zero ... actually, I don't NEED LRH, but it's nice anyway. To repeat part of Stefan's docs, this program may NOT work on your machine due to limitations of your keyboard's harware. It does not work on A500's and A2000A's (German design). It does NOT prevent the reset, it only delays it (about 8-10 secs.) Contrary to Stefan's handler, this one will work under 1.3, too... Installation Even though using cback.o and following the SAS handbook's example, I couldn't get LRH to detach completely from the CLI, so if you want to close the CLI you're starting it from, start it with: RUN >NIL: LRH LRH can only be removed by resetting the machine. What's that name ? You might have guessed what that RH part stands for... but can you guess what the `L' is for without starting and resetting ??? (Denver DevCon attendees have a slight advantage over the rest of you... :-) Disclaimer I'm not responsible for any damage caused or prevented by LRH. Also, do not blaim me if you keep on resetting your machine, just to see that handler go to work... (if you're really that far, contact me, and I'll send you that part as an endless loop...) BTW, almost forgot... `pump up the volume' before resetting.. :-> Last Second Changes As this nice li'le hack doesn't work on my good ol' 1000, I added another feature: just add a parameter of your choice to enjoy the hack without resetting...
