*** DISCLAIMER ***

This program has been thoroughly tested and has been found bug free (I
hope!) and has caused no ill effects on two models of the Amiga.
Therefore the Programmer takes NO responsibility for problems incurred
on YOUR computer. Use of this program is entirely at your own risk.

Boy, something like that could make you want to not try this program
out!! But really, it is safe. It was test on a 25mhz A3000 and a 16mhz
A2500 without any problems and should work on any model Amiga.

*** DISTRIBUTION ***

LZ GUI EXTRACTOR is freely distributable and copyrighted. You may
upload it wherever you choose, but you are NOT allowed to sell LZ GUI
EXTRACTOR for profit or include LZ GUI EXTRACTOR on any disk which is
sold for profit (not including Fred Fish disks), without the
permission of Ted W Geibel.

*** UPDATES AND CHANGES ***

*Changes from version 80d to 1.0a

     - Added a configuration file for the convenience of those
who always download and extract files to specific directories.
     - Shrunk the info window.
     - Added the subprogram "APPlze" (pronounced "Apples")

*Changes from version 80c to 80d

     - Revised the look of the DESTination button and the SOURCE
       button.
     - Added menus and shortcuts for selecting both the source and
       the destinations.
     - Shrunk the window so it takes up only half the screen of a
       non-interlace Workbench screen.

*Changes from 80b to 80c

     - Removed the requirement that LZ be in the C: directory.
     - 80b didn't recognize filenames that had capital LHA/LZH in
       them.
     - Rewrote the code to hopefully improve the speed slightly.
     - Added a DESTination button for those who like to "melt" to
       floppy disk.

	- Added an Iconify option in the PROJECT menu.

*** INTRODUCTION ***

This is my second major attempt to produce GooeyWare with Cando.
Wait... What is GooeyWare? Its for those Amigans who are addicted to
the WIMPerface/GUI (Window.Icons.Mice.Pointers or Graphic User
Interface) or just to lazy to use/learn the CLInterface. GUI
pronounced "Gooey". This one gives you a GUI to extract files
compressed/crammed/forced/coerced by the program LZ (by the wonderful
Jonathan Forbes @ Zenomiga Technology).

*** USING THIS LZ GUI EXTRACTOR ****

First off, LZ GUI EXTRACTOR expects to find the program LZ somewhere.
This can either be in your C: directory, or a directory elsewhere. To
allow LZ GUI EXTRACTOR to find LZ if it is NOT in your C: directory
you need to use the AmigaDOS "PATH" command. (Example: PATH
WORK:Archivers ADD. For full info See your AmigaDOS manual).

Second, LZ GUI EXTRACTOR will extract files that end in either ".LHA"
or ".LZH" but will NOT work with files that have spaces in them.
Example, "VSE V.50.lza" would not be extracted by LZ GUI EXTRACTOR,
Although "VSE_V.50.lza" would.

*Starting LZ GUI EXTRACTOR

Double clicking on its icon will open LZ GUI EXTRACTOR in the upper
half of your workbench screen. The area on the left labeled
"Source-->" is where you will select the file to be extracted. The
area on the right labeled "Destination-->RAM:", is the default
location for the extracted files. In the center is a button labeled
"SOURCE" and a button labeled "DEST". Clicking once on the "SOURCE"
button will bring up a file requestor asking you to select a directory
that contains the files you wish to extract. ONLY select a directory!
Selecting a Director PLUS a file will abort the load. If you wish to
select a different location for the extracted files, click the
"DEST"ination button to select the path.

After selecting a path, all the files that end in .LZH/.LHA will be
displayed in the source window. To extract the archive, double click
on its name. LZ GUI EXTRACTOR will extract the files in RAM: or the
destination you chose, and display their names in the destination
window to confirm they were extracted.

That's it! Now just copy them to your permanent download directory
and enjoy!

*** Using "APPLZE" ***

"APPLZE", pronounced "Apples", is a simple program using OS 2
APPevent to create an LHA archive.

The default destination is set to Ram:, but this may be changed by
clicking on the word destination and selecting a destination. The
default archive name is "TempARCHIVE" which may also be changed to
whatever you desire. The .Info files are also added to the archive
automatically.

When you're done, click on DONE to return to the LZ GUI EXTRACTOR
screen.
