PaNorAmA 29C 25May88 AmigaTalk: AmigaTalk is a program for the Commodore Amiga designed to allow blind users to make full use of the Amiga. It performs two main functions: The first is to say all text written to the current window using the Amigas built-in speech capability, and to buffer this text, so the user may later make enquiries as to what text is currently on the window. ASG: Amiga Structure Generator is a simple compiler that allows you to define windows, menus, gadgets, and requesters in a simple manner. It allows you to supply only the information you feel is relevant and it will supply the rest. You can supply IFF files to use for gadgets and menuitems, or you can use one of the built in images. C header file with example. CLI only. BetterSpeech: BetterSpeech is a program designed to be run in the background so it can intercept calls to the Translate routine of the Translator library and do some pre-processing of the text before it is translated. CLI only. Executable only. Check1.03: Check1.03 is a CLI utility to check your C source before compiling. Check will also convert CR/LF to LF only. DragSample: C source that demonstrates how to create a gadget for a window which allows you to drag the window by clicking anywhere in the window that does not have a (normal) user or system gadget FileFind1.2: FileFind will search all directories beginning with the specified directory (Default = Root) on the specified drive (Default = Currently logged drive) for all files which match the specified filename. LDebug: This is a Demo version of a Lattice C compiler debugger. CLI only with an example. M2: Three more Modula-2 source files. FastFile: By popular demand, here's the FastFileIO module adapted to Benchmark compiler. SerialIO: Also by popular demand, here's the Serial module adapted to the Benchmark compiler. CLI only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 29D 25May88 BBS/Access1.30a: After Rick's excellent demo of Access at the last meeting, it is very apparent that quite a few of you have been trying out access lately and have discovered there is a bug in the version on the last meet disks. BBS/ArchA1.0: This program looks like it might be helpful for unzooing, unarcing, or unpacking compressed files that you download from bulletin boards. BBS/FNams: FNAMS will produce a listing on stdout of all files under the given directory/unit with their full pathnames. Thus FNAMS is a complement to the ZOO archiver. The first objective is to provide a easy way to archive entire directory structures BBS/MakeARC: Renames subdirectories and filenames to a format suitable for the arc program. (Arc is limited to a maximum of 12? characters, and does not allow sub-directories). Is also creates a script file that will rename them back for you. CLI_Utilities/Calendar: The Calendar programs are designed to be used as part of a 'startup-sequence'. They provide an easy way to update the system time and date. Calendar also will list short memos for the current month as an option. CLI_Utilities/Compress: A modified Lempel-Ziv method for compressing and uncompressing files. Includes the source code in C. CLI_Utilities/DMouse1.06: Another really nice utility from Matt Dillon. This one blanks the screen if you are idle. Mouse also blanks after 5 seconds inactivity. Dmouse also auto activates a window when the mouse is moved over it. And if that's not enough... it's also a mouse accelerator. In the words of the author, it "Back feeds power into the mouse unit; give it a nudge and it is guarenteed to penetrate up to an inch and a half of wall plaster (programmable depth). Once you start using it, you won't be able to switch back!" CLI_Utilities/RepString1.0: This Utility will replace any type of string in any type of file with another string of any type. CLI_Utilities/ROST: Here are two simple shareware utilities from HERMES: ROS = Report On Storage ROT = Report On Task CLI_Utilities/WC: A word count utility by Donald A. Curtis. CStuff/DO1.1: A simple way to compile and link those C programs from instructions you embed CStuff/RawGet: Shows how to use the Manx set_raw() and set_con() functions to do single-character console CStuff/RxMake: Shows how to construct your own "make" utility program using Rexx CStuff/ScnSizer: Sets window size from the CLI. Includes Assembler Source Moria1.1: Moria is a dungeon adventure game in the manner of Rogue, Hack, Larn, etc., but not descended from Rogue. Moria is to VMS systems (VAX), as Rogue is to UNIX. It is a game similar to the above games in that it involves wizards, warriors, scroll, potions, magic. Requires at least 1 MEG of memory PopFunc2.1: PopFuncs 2.1 is a user-definable keyboard macros program which can be used from the WorkBench or CLI. Also has user-definable 'hot keys' to enable the function keys. TCell1.1: The latest of the Virus detect programs. This one includes source in modula 2 UtiliMaster0.65: UtiliMaster is a program that lets you organize your disks. Features includes two areas for source and destination disks and many more. UtiliMaster is public domain shareware and author requests ($10.00). Also included is a program to build icons of any type for icon images called UMUtil. UMUtil can only be run from the CLI ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 30B 08June88 AddIcon2.0: AddIcon is a utility program which will automaticly create icons for files which do not have them. It's more complex capabilities also allow it to selectivly replace pieces of existing icons from a stock of icon templates which you may modify and add to CLI/CoreWars1.01w: A preliminary version of the game "CoreWars". "CoreWars" was written up in A.K. Dewdney's 'Computer Recreations' column of the May 1984 issue of Scientific American. Includes source code in C. CLI/KickRom: Instructions and utilities for makeing your own KickStart in ROM for you hardware hackers. CLI/M4: A complete PD implementation of the M4 macro preprocessor originally written for the GNU project. PD M4 is based on the software tools macro as described in the two tools books by Kernighan and Plauger. Includes source code in C. CLI/PMSnoop: A "Poor Man's" Snoop utility that like its big brother on the developer's tookit disk helps trace the memory allocations made by the operating system. This one differs in writing its output to the standard output stream. Those of us who don't have a spare 9600 baud terminal to hang on the serial line will appreciate this tool. CLI/PrtSpool: A background printer spooler program. CLI/WNote1.1: A utility to easily allow you to edit filenotes. (Updated 05/14/88) DNet1.20: DNet is a link protocol which provides for a number of connections between two Amigas or between any Amiga and a 4.3 Unix machine. I personally have had a lot of fun chatting with a friend while simultaneously exchanging full directories of programs using DNet. Source code in C for the Amiga end is included. Unfortunately the Unix end of this did not make it to my usenet site. Virus!_Alert1.01: Another Virus detector which works by installing it's own startup boot block. If you have the virus detector running it warns you if its version of the boot block has been modified. I don't normally put programs like this on Club disks without the source code, however the author is a club member. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 30C 22June88 Avi1.0: A workalike version of UN*X vi editor for the Amiga. It is intended to provide vi users, who tend to be a rather hardcore lot, with their favorite text editor. DirMaster1.1: An updated version of the DirMaster disk cataloguer - lots of new features and enhancement. DirMaster is shareware, the author is asking for $25 if you like and use it. Group rates available. Dmouse1.7: An update of Matt's super mouse accelerator/screen blanker/ sun mouse/window to front utility Guru: A utility that deciphers Guru Meditation numbers. Leach1.3: A useful utility if you own NewTik's "Digi-View, Aegis Images, or Graphicraft. It allow you to overlay a ruler to make more precise mesurements of pixel distances and angles in a digitized image. MergeMem2.01: Merges the memlists of sequentially configured ram boards to make them appear to be contiguous expansion ram. RexxSerDev: A beta version of a serial device function library for ARexx. StartClock: The built in clock in the Amiga 2000 and 500 can apparently run into problems if an errant program accidently turns the clock off. The clock can not be restarted even by turning off your computer. StartClock is a utility xxx wrote to remedy this proble. Storage1.08: A handy utility that will display the capacity and current free space on all currently mounted devices, including hard disk partitions. Allows you to set an alarm, should the free space fall below a given minimum. Text: Miscellaneous interesting articles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 31A 13July88 Engine: An animation by Panorama club member Ron Tarrant using Animate 3-D. NewMovie is a freeware player used to display the animation. This one is unusual in having sound played along with it. Float: Takes any WorkBench icon (Disk, Drawer, Tool, Project, etc.) and "unsnapshots" it allowing WorkBench to move the icon where it thinks is the best place for. Julia: A program for exploring Julia sets - another fractal similar to the Mandelbrot set. The difference is that there are many Julia sets. A nicely done program with full set of menus to explore the set. Orbit3D: A nitfty game! You are the pilot of a small space vehicle in orbit, along with your Mother Ship, around a large black hole in space. Your vechicle is supplied with oxygen for life support, fuel for maneuvering, and torpedoes for destruction of asteroids captured by the gravitational force of the black hole. The object of the game is simply to survive in orbit as long as possible. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 31B 27July88 2088.Utils: Here are two utilities for Amiga 2000 owners with attached bridgecard. Readclk v5.88 sets the IBM side date and time by reading the Amiga side's clock. Transfer is v7.88 an enhanced utility for tranferring files to and from the IBM side and the amiga side. Documentation and executable only. A68k1.2: An update to Charlie's 68000 Assembler. This one fixes 5 bugs reported by A68k users, and adds 3 enhancements. Include source code in C, extensive documentation and binary. ConvertToOneShot: ConvertToOneShot and CopyToOneShot were convert one-shot/instr IFF sound files (produced with AudioMaster) to one-shot IFF sound files for use with NewMovie and Movie1.3. Craps1.1: A casino dice or craps table simulation written in True Basic. Looks interesting and full of features. Author asks for a $10 donation if you like it. QuickLens2.02: QuickLens v2.02 is a program that magnifies portions of any screen. demonstrating some very fast bit manipulation techniques. It is based on "Lens" by Ned Konz. ReSource0.36: Demo version of an interactive file disassembler. The full version, available for $60US, will recreate assembler source code that can be reassembled. WBLace2: A program to change the WorkBench screen from a 640x200 to a 640x400 screen, and back again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 31C 27July88 PDC0.92: A Publicly Distributable C Compiler system targetted for the Amiga's operating system. This is an update from the C compiler found on Fred Fish disk #110. Major enhancements include a full fledged macro preprocessor; compiler now implements "typedef", "unsigned int", "unsigned char" etc, initialization of auto variables, and full 32 bit multiply divide and modulus operations. This version also included a tiny but working stdio library, and a PD version of Amiga.lib. Binary only. Examples: Several examples you can test out PDC with. The examples in the "Amiga" directory will require Commodore's include files which are available from Commodore for $20. The ones in the "StdIO" library will run with the supplied include files. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 32A 10 August 88 GT_V1.1: Another terminal program for you BBS users to try out. This one also has a full-featured intuition interface, and appears to be very efficiently implemented as well. Moria_V2.0: Moria 2.0 is an update of the dungeon adventure game like Rogue, Hack, and Larn on one of the recent club disks. Moria involves wizards, warriors, scrools, potions, and magic, and in order to win, you must perform certain tasks. This version adds full graphics, plus adds a few features. UtiliMaster_V0.68: An updated version of UtiliMaster - a program that will make the job of copying and deleting, or viewing files much easier. You can even do it by clicking on an icon! This one fixes a few bug in the earlier version, and looks a little more functional as well. VirusX_V1.50: An update to Steve Tibbett's excellent virus checker. This update will detect several strains of Virus that are rampant in Europe, but haven't show up here you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 32B 10-Aug-88 DynaBase: This is the long-awaited demonstration of DynaBase, a database developed by three of our local members. Rumours tell us that DynaBase is almost ready for release. More: A program to display text files. You are using it now. DateBook: DateBook is a system to help avoid the embarrassment of forgotten appointments and birthdays. Append: Append copies a text file onto another file. This is what JOIN should do, but doesn't. Tool: This is a little utility to help with setting up vast numbers of icons in a single batch file. This program can set the default tool, stack size, and tooltypes of a 'project' Icon from the CLI or a batchfile. Tool can be run from the CLI or from a batch file (using XICON). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- PaNorAmA 32C 24 August 88 Cxrfdb: A C Cross Reference DataBase useful for documenting large C programs. One example would be to document your include file header files. "lid FileInfoBlock" will instantly tell which files have that symbol in it. "gid FileInfoBlock" will also display the lines where FileInfoBlock occurs. Binary and documentation only DMouse_v1.09: An update to DMouse, the mouse accelerator and screen blanker program. Auto activates a window when the mouse is moved over it, and blanks the mouse if it is inactive. Includes source code in C. Perl_v28: Perl is short for "Practical Extraction and Report Language." Perl is a interpreted language optimized for scanning arbitrary text files, extracting information from those text files, and printing reports based on that information. It's also a good language for many system management tasks. This is patch level 28 of version 1.0.1.10 (March 1988). Binary and documentation only. Scheme_v1.2: This is the first distribution of a Scheme system for the AMiga. Scheme is a dialect of the Lisp programming language. If you have wanted to look at one of the languages used in Artificial Intellegence and Expert systems, here is your chance. Binary, documentation and examples are include. VC_v1.0: VC is a modified version of James Gosling's spreadsheat program which Dave Wecker ported to the Amiga. The modifications, by club member Bill Henning, make use of intuition facilities to add menus including a help menu. Needs more than 512K memory to run sucessfully.
