Installation of the new samples =============================== I CANNOT CONFIRM THIS, BUT I BELIEVE THAT YOU NEED 2 MEG OR MORE IN ORDER FOR THE FULL SAMPLE SET TO BE LOADED, SO THESE SAMPLES ARE USELESS IF YOU DON'T MEET THIS REQUIREMENT. N.B. The script provided is for Hard Disk installation, as I no longer use floppy disks for workbench or playing Worms. The Install_Samples script and the Bottom_Samples.lha archive must be in your worms directory for the script to execute correctly. The Install_Samples script will rename your TWENGLISH directory as TWENGLISH.bak (so that you have the original samples as a backup) and will extract the archive into a new TWENGLISH directory, then delete the archive (to save you space). The script also copies some of the old samples into the new TWENGLISH directory, because I didn't change every sample - Just most of them ;-). To load them into Worms, just load as per normal, clicking on English as the language for the game. The new samples will load in place of the old ones. Information =========== I created this sample set using the Technosound Turbo II sampler cartridge and Audiomaster sampling software. I'm afraid that due to a fault in some of the wiring I was using initially caused a slight interference on some of the samples (until I noticed) but when you are playing Worms, you don't tend to notice (What a great game!!). Description =========== The samples are taken from "Bottom Live - The Big Number 2 Tour" and took about two hours to sample and cut to size, and a further hour choosing the samples to use in the game. About Me ======== My name is Richard Smith and I am currently doing a Degree in Computer Science at Nottingham University. My current setup is an Amiga 1200 with a 250 Mb Overdrive hard-disk (about 70% full at the moment), Amitek external 1 Mb floppy disk drive. My display is only a TV at the moment (being a student) and not a monitor :-( but the computer is linked to it using a SCART adapter so the picture is pretty good anyway B-). My e-mail address is rxs@cs.nottingham.ac.uk if anyone wants to contact me, inform me of new sample sets or landscapes available on the internet, etc. Extra...Extra... ================ I have drawn several custom landscapes myself, and I'm currently deciding which one(s) to upload to the Team 17 site (although they really ought to get a faster FTP server!). Anyway - Bye for now...
