Formula One Grand Prix 2 ************************ The release of PC version has apparently been delayed until March 1996. As far as I know it will require at least a fast 486 PC (a Pentium is recommended though), CD-ROM drive and 8Mb RAM! If MicroProse had their way, F1GP 2 would already be out by now, but Geoff Crammond is a freelancer, and obviously he doesn't want to release a game until he thinks it is ready - not when MicroProse say they want it (eg before Christmas, so they can make more money!). It is clear that MicroProse have no intention of converting it to the Amiga. Well, before I go any further I wish to make it clear that OTM are only "interested" in this project - it is certainly no certainty. The important words from the post above being "is being considered". There is still a long way to go! OTM told me this in correspondence I've had with them via email. So please don't jump to the conclusion that F1GP 2 will definitly appear on the Amiga - this is simply not true. If at this point you are asking yourself: "Who are OTM?", then the answer is the company that published Virtual Karting. OTM have made further postings to the same newsgroup and keep mentioning what they would do. They seem to think that they could make the Amiga version near perfect to the PC version. A500/A600 versions were mentioned to me as a possibility although a 68020 accelerator would be needed. Detail levels would be more customizable than the PC version - to get the same graphics level as the maximum graphics level on the PC a 68060 accelerator will be needed. Basically, it could cater for all Amigas. This is all pure speculation though - nothing has been arranged with MicroProse / Geoff Crammond yet. So we will have to wait and see. Whether MicroProse & Geoff Crammond are willing, and OTM actually decide to go ahead with the project is another question. I'll be doing my best to keep up-to-date on the situation and will be emailing OTM a lot :-)
