You and a few guys want have the Reset1200 in the MCP. We have analysed this program and we think that nobody should use it. I can explain in a few lines which it does. This program patches the ColdReboot offset in the exec-library, but the pro- gram is programmed in C or something else so the patch of this program are false! The programmers have forgot to give the right libraryaddress in this patch, so that every program which uses this ColdReboot (f.e. MCP Noguru and the 'Reboot' command from Commodore) will crash !!!!!! The other thing is that the program overjump the processor 'RESET' command to forbid the reset from the harddrive. It's not your big harddrive !! The problem is that few Seagate harddisks go off if a reset command from the processor comes. This is not very good for the user, but it is the process of a Seagate-harddisk. The Reset command for the processor are always in the ROM, so that this pro- gram jumps over them. But the system need this reset command to reboot right. If you look with a tool (for example SysInfo) where your execbase is, so you can see, that after a fastreset the execlibrary are in Chipmem. I think that you must feel the speed decrease in your system after a FastReset, because especially the A1200 are twice as fast with real FastRAM and the execlibrary is the most used library in the system. We think that the patch from the ColdReboot offset in the execlibrary are not important, because this program not use this offset. But if we don't make this patch, your system lose all the fastmem after the reset. I think that you understand our problems and I think that you should not use the Reset1200 command, because who want decrease the speed from the system after each reset. We have no idea how we can do it and this is because we don't include a better fastreset. But the Reset1200 command is a very badly solution for your problem. If you want solve the problem with your harddisk forever then you can cut the red cable of the scsi-kabel from your internal harddisk. By a friend from me it works very good and he must not use a program that takes all the speed from the system !!
