KMSUM 1.21 -*- KMS User Manager ©1994 Thomas Schwarz ======================================================= Documentation ============= Introduction: ------------- KMSUM is a GUI for editing the user data of KMS, my famous "Karfunkel Mailbox System" and is based on MUI, the even more famous "Magic User Interface" by Stefan Stuntz which has to be installed on your system in order to be able to use KMSUM. KMSUM makes you able to change every data item of a KMS user which may be edited by the KMS internal command #25 "USERED", but on a much more comfortable graphically nice-looking astonishingly pretty way. KMSUM is designed especially for use with KMS and is not intended to be used by anything or anybody for anything else. (But surely I'm not able to stop you from abusing it anyway. If you abuse it, please tell me which way you do it. I simply can't imagine one :-) Call-Syntax: ------------ KMSUM [Username] Parameters: +++++++++++ Username Optional: If you supply the login name of a KMS user as an argument, KMSUM directly presents the editing window for this user, if it already exists, or lets you create a new user with the given name. Description: ------------ Main Window: ++++++++++++ If KMSUM is called without parameters, you will see the main window with a list of all present KMS users and a number of buttons. You select an user from the list with a single mouseclick on the corresponding name. Every user specific action will then effect this single user. If you call KMSUM with the name of a KMS user given as command line argument you won't see this window and will be transported directly to the editing window described later on. Available buttons/actions in the main window: [ Up ] Move user one position up in the list. [ Down ] Move user one position down in the list. [ Sort ] Sort users alphabetically. [ Add ] Add new user to the list. [ Remove ] Remove an user from the list. [ Edit ] Change data of currently selected user. (also achieved by double-clicking in the listview) You leave the program by clicking the window close gadget or selecting "Quit" from the pull down menu. Editing Window: +++++++++++++++ If you choose "Add" or "Edit" in the main window or call KMSUM with a command line argument, the KMSUM User Editor window is opened. Here you get the possibility to change the characteristics of the selected user. I think the meaning of all the available string, slider, cycle and checkmark gadgets are quite self explanatory, if you are familiar to editing userdata with the KMS internal command #25 "USERED", and so I will make my life easier here by just saying: "Read the documentation of USERED" :-) Just one thing though: The checkmark gadget "Ext. Write Opt." has got the functionality of the KMS internal command #26 "SCHREIBMODUS". The available buttons do the following: [ Use ] Accept changes and return to the main window.
