Base Secure v1.0 ================ By Lance Berikoff ( Dracula ) I wrote this little utility to add that little extra security. We all get users who try to gain illegal access to areas in which they do not belong, and I fealt that the Flags were just not enough insurance for my needs so I wrote this little quick and dirty program to do the job. Installation: ============= Copy the BaseSecure to Pfiles: Add this to the begining of your EN text to the area that you want to protect. {#0Pfiles:BaseSecure} ^ | ------ CTRL-Q You must also add a 4 digit number to the users sysop comment line ( EA ) this is what the file searches for, Your users only have 2 attempts to get it correct or the system forces them off and they will not be able to call back until the next day. There are a few ways to edit this program so I left it uncompiled, so edit it to your liking! DISCLAIMER: If you use this program, you do so accepting that you are the one responsible for anything that it might possible do to your system. I cannot be held responsible, as you use this at your own risk! If it makes you feel better, my system hasn't been obliterated by it yet :) Keep in mind that if you haven't gotten this file off of Vladamir's Den or FUTURE WORLD, you should double check it to make sure it hasn't been hacked (not that I am responsible if it has, cause as this disclaimer says "USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!".. FREELY DISTRIBUTABLE: Although I want to keep the copywrite on this file, permission is give to freely distribute to any BBS (although I'm sure it wouldn't quite work for any non-CNET boards without a bit of modifications. If you use this, all I ask is that you leave me mail on future world. Modify as you like for your own use, but PLEASE if you make a better version, or one you feel is worth distributing, PLEASE upload it to Future World first! I know it can probably be done better, and the least you can do if you improve it is let me have a copy. It was a quick and dirty program that did the trick so of course you may want to improve it.
