The Magick that had tore across the land during the great wars, also 
mutated many of the Animals that dwelled upon the lands. 

Our Winged Friends, the Birds were not immune to these Mutations.  
Some of the Birds became humanoid in size and Intellect, learned how to
use the Weapons that were lying around in the aftermath.  

Being Strong and Quick, they make Excellent Thieves.
Thier being Sorta Dumb and Easily Killed They make Very poor spell
casters.
