Eagle Trace I recently picked up the 1986 edition of George Peper's book "Golf Courses of the PGA Tour" from my local library (Text copyright George Peper, Illustrations copyright Harry N. Abrams, Inc). Aside from the enjoyment of paging through the book, it also gave me some ideas on the design and challenge of some of the lesser know courses on the tour. I wanted to do a course that was not visually stunning, but was what I would call a "meat and potatoes", blue collar course. Eagle Trace seemed to fit the bill. As I was progressing through the design, I only had limited drawings to go by; nothing as far as the lay of the land, undulations of the greens, etc. So....taking mouse in hand, I tried to faithfully reproduce the basic layout, but with limited success. I decided to add some variations that I thought fit the theme of the course....more trees, more hills, etc. As this is already a "water" course, I did not have to do much in that area. The result will be for you to judge. On a normal day, your scores should consistently be under par....but dry conditions and fast greens will frustrate you greatly if you putt like I do. If you have courses you would like to trade, or collaborate on, please contact me. Daniel Hamernick January 4, 1992 689 E County Rd D #208 St Paul, MN 55117 (PRODIGY ID TGSM49A) eof
