We are proud to announce the first alpha release of the Amiga port of lcc 3.5.
Lcc is a fast, portable, strictly ANSI compliant C compiler described in
"A Retargetable C Compiler: Design and Implementation" (Benjamin/Cummings,
1995, ISBN 0-8053-1670-1).

The Amiga port is based on the m68k description contributed by Woodrow Yeung,
and currently produces code for a 68030/68881. The port is nearly complete,
and the compiler is able to compile itself and most of the programs thrown at
it. A few problems remain, however, and we are making this release available,
in the hope of finding people interested in helping us eradicate these
problems.

If you are interested in getting a copy of the Amiga port (source, binaries, C
library, and some utilities), please send a message to either
Joop.vandeWege@medew.ento.wau.nl or kyrimis@softlab.ece.ntua.gr.

We stress again that the port is not quite ready for general release, so if
you are only interested in getting a free C compiler for the Amiga, your best
bet still is to get a copy of gcc.
