@database default @node main "Contents" ======= FaxGate ======= Divert incoming email to a fax number. @{"FaxGate" link FaxGate} @{"FaxSpool" link FaxSpool} @{"Install" link Install} @endnode @node FaxGate ======= FaxGate ======= Scans through your email directory, normally called 'uumail:' for any files contained in the @{"'gateway'" link gateway} file, and bungs them into 'fax:spool/' for use with @{"FaxSpool" link faxspool} @endnode @node Gateway ======= Gateway ======= Or more properly, 'fax:gateway'. This is a file which contains all your fax numbers and email addresses. Hence, if you want the email address called 'strange' diverted to '12345' you would enter into the gateway file: strange 12345 wierd 54321 bizarre 01811234567890 The fields are tab seperated, not space seperated, (sorry) so use an editor that can handle tabs, like memacs. @endnode @node FaxSpool ======== FaxSpool ======== Ok, what this does, is scan your 'fax:spool' directory, and then convert anything in it, into a group 3 fax document, and promptly bung it down the phone line. It then deletes the original file. Why is this seperate ?? Because I process faxes ready to send after downloading my email, and I fax them in the middle of the night. @endnode @node Install ======= Install ======= This is the hard part. First of all, you should have 'elcheapofax' installed on your system somewhere in your command path. Then, copy faxspool and faxgate somewhere exciting on your system. The ecf directory would be good. Add an assign 'Fax:' to your 's:user-startup' pointing to your elcheapofax directory, somewhere to put the files. Create a file 'Fax:gateway' with tab seperated fields for the addresses you want to divert faxes from. Make a directory 'fax:spool' so the program can put faxes somewhere. Make sure you run 'faxgate' after connecting to the net. Receive/send some email to your test addresses. Wait till the phone rates go down, then run 'faxspool' and watch your modem light up. @endnode @node register This is the page where the registration doc normally goes. Since this proggie is freely distributable, and I don't expect to receive money for an hours work, I thought I'd include it anyway, and hope. It does however, contain usefull info like my web and email addresses. If you want to send me money, don't let me stop you ! Go right ahead ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hiya, this is a standard registration document for nearly all software written by me. It is quite simple really. Nearly all of my programs are released as un-crippled shareware, but with a 'please register' feature for regular users. (sorry..) Registering is simple. Just send me money ;-) The recommended ammount is £10 in UK currency, unless otherwise specified. I cannot accept stuff in wierd foreign currencies, it takes ages to convert, and costs ME money. Some of my programs are released as freeware, but I would appreciate an email or a postcard letting me know that the effort wasn't wasted competely. You will also need to send me the file 'S:Braneloc.key' which is required for all my programs to run. The preferred method of sending it to you is as an uuencoded file across the internet. If you insist, you may send a floppy disk containing the file. In fact, this is probably easier than sending one physical post, and one electronic, but that's your choice. If you want the file-on-disk and returned, please specify this very clearly. I'd MUCH rather return keyfiles over the net. Either way, when I have received the registration I will return the file (updated) with your unrestricted access codes, and stamped with your name and address. If you wish to register multiple programs, not a problem. Contact me for special rates. Remember to include your name and address, and the name of the program you are registering. This will be available as a version string. version Your updated keyfile will be good for any future versions of the program, which will be available in the usual places. Software will first be made available at my website address, or released to DraughtFlow BBS, and uploaded to the aminet later. I may set up a mailing list for update information if you request it. Go on.. Please support shareware. Remember, it is much better receiving 100% of £10 than 5% of £30-£40(or more) for commercial releases. Please support shareware. Having people using your software is great, but receiving money for it is better, and is likely to inspire more releases, more often. Please support Amiga shareware.
