PRINTING THE README FILES



I seem to have acquired the nasty habit of filling screens from edge to edge
with words in order to save paper in the long run.  Please consider it to be
"environmentally sound" rather than goofy.

So, because of that habit, if you wish to print out any of the readme files in
this specific Index archive, be sure you have the printer margins set at:

   Left Margin = 0
   Right Margin = 80

These are my default settings in the system preferences and I was unaware of
any problems until a friend pointed it out while trying to print the Roadmap
at the system default of 5 and 75.  (It comes out looking *U-G-L-Y*).  So, I
thought I should spare the rest of you from having to decipher my apparent
puzzle.

As for printing the original readme files that are in the archives, you will
likely need to run them through a text editor and remove all the formatting
commands that the various wordprocessors that the authors used on MS-DOS and
Macs, left behind.

Many of them are quite strange...with extremely long lines that tended to
choke the editors/wordprocessors that I had available...but do the best you
can.  I was able to read them all and edit them to create my excerpts for my
indexes by using a simple shareware editor program known simply as "AZ".

I did not edit them for the rest of us because I felt it was important to
keep the original archive as much in tact as possible out of respect for the
authors, especially considering I KNOW these files will be doing some more
travelling among your friends...
