           LIBERIA
==============================

Liberia is located in West
Africa between Sierra Leone
and the Ivory Coast. It has a
treacherous coast with rocky
cliffs and lagoons enclosed by
sand bars. Inland the land
rises to a densely forested
plateau dissected by deep,
narrow valleys. Further inland
still, there are beautiful
waterfalls, and the Nimba
Mountains rise to over 1700m.
Agriculture employs three-
quarters of the labour force
and produces cassava and rice
as subsistence crops, and
rubber, coffee and cocoa for
export. The Nimba Mountains
are rich in iron ore, which
accounts for 70% of export
earnings.
