THE STORY OF MY BLUES
                 ---------------------


 NO, don`t worry, I`m not going to tell you all of my troubles in detail
or anything like that.  But I AM going to tell a bit about me and how I
came to start writing music and using Octamed. (Well, it IS my disk, y`know,
and I can be self-indulgent if I want to!)


    I loved music from an early age. (I also loved baked beans, but I`m not
making a disk about that, am I?)  When I was in primary school, I used to
play Chopsticks, and Midnight Sonata non-stop on the piano. I eventually moved
on to rock and roll (Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, The Beatles) and got
a mini keyboard for my 12th birthday. Then, I saved up, bought a bigger 
keyboard and started to try to write my own music. And FINALLY, after 
YEARS of pleading, begging, sweat, blood and tears, my parents bought me a 
second hand Amiga A500. I chucked my Commodore 64 out of the window (though 
not literally) and haven`t looked back since. (Well, I have in a physical 
sense, but not a mental one)


   So, armed with my new Amiga, a cheap midi interface, and a love of rock
and roll (and baked beans) I delved into the magical world of PD. After 
buying as many trackers as I could (GMC, Sountracker, Noisetracker, Protracker,
JAMCracker, Zoundmonitor, Startrekker etc) I settled with GMC - the 
Games Music Creator, written by none other than Andreas Tadic (Team 17)
It was a pretty crap program, but within a few months I had written about 80
songs.

   
   The program wasn`t good enough, though, and I was convinced by the owner
of NBS to try a new tracker. That`s how I found MED V2.01. My music writing
got better with my piano playing...  Now I`m writing the kind of stuff
that you`re hearing now, and playing blues on the piano (Memphis Slim,
Alan Price, Dave Bruebeck...   If anyone has heard of those people and like
them then write to me!)


    Musically, my life is going pretty well. I`m  in a band, I`m in FOP
with the excellent Chris Wright, (his FOP3, incidently, is being included
with Octamed V5!), and some of my music is appearing on the MUG disk
magasine - the brilliant  Total Irrelevance  (if you haven`t heard of this,
or haven`t bought one, then I would stongly recommend it!)  
    BUT - my music still hasn`t been accepted by any software company, so
please contact me with any job offers!
