~~3D-Mail, 85 Ceres Road, Plumstead, London, SE18 1HL ~~5This is the part of the Digital Disk Magazine that is written by you, the readers. Basically, we want to hear from you, about anything. Even if it's just a simple question, no matter how long the letter is, we will try our best to answer it. And it doesn't have to be computer-related either. So get writing. Please send your contributions to the address at the top of this document. Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~9Dear Sir, Will you send me, please, a copy of your Digital Disk magazine. I am an amiga A600 owner with 1 meg extra memory plus extra disk-drive. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Mr R. Musson, Bradford. A free, YES free, copy of Digital Disk (issue 3) is winging its merry way to you right now! - Ben -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~6Dear Digital Disk, Thank you very much for sending me a copy of Digital Disk issue 2. I found it to be very easy to use, especially the user interface and can't wait to subscribe! Also thank you for the offer of issue 3, so you will find enclosed 2 blank floppy disks and enough postage. I hope to hear from you soon. Stuart Burrell, Scotland. And hear from us you shall (or probably have already by now). Hope you enjoy reading issue 3 as much as issue 2. We feel that we have improved greatly on the user interface since issue 2 was created and hope to keep improving things too, to make everything easier to use. Many thanks for the compliments! All I can say is, subscribe and reap the benefits and rewards. - Ben -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~9Dear Digital Disk, Many thanks for the copy of Digital Disk for the Amiga, I was a little disappointed to read on the enclosed slip that the disk would not work on the 1.3 workbench. I have an Amiga 1500 that has Workbench 1.3 with 1 meg of chip ram and 2 megs of fast ram. I am unsure why it worked when you could not get it to work on the 1.3 machines, unless it used the whole of chip ram and some of the fast ram. The disk worked very well and I was very impressed with the content. The music and graphics were excellent. Could you send me disk 3 so that I can ensure that this still works on my machine. I enclose 2 disks for this purpose. I have a friend whom is interested in the PC version of this disk mag so could you send me details of this please. May I congratulate you on a new and exciting disk mag and wish you every success. Thank you for your help in this matter. M. A. Liquorish Ah yes, the problem with 1.3 machines. Well, I have to say it does seem to be a bit of a falsehood where this problem is concerned. The 1.3 machines I myself tried it on did run the mag with no problems. But David also tried on some others and found that it wasn't working properly. I think it is to do with the individual's memory configuration on their machines. I also suspect it has to do with whether the user only has 512K of memory on their machine. If this is the case, Digital Disk probably won't run. Basically, it is false to say that Digital Disk will not run on a 1.3 machine. This is an important point and thanks for bringing it up. We are glad that you liked the content, music and graphics. Well, hopefully when you read issue 5 of Digital Disk you may be even more impressed (we *really* hope so!!!), since we have yet again upgraded the user interface and, this time, crammed the disks full of music, graphics, articles and public domain software. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy reading issue 3. Yes, it's on its way to you (or you already have it, hopefully by now!!!), which we feel is a large improvement over issue 2. As far as the PC version of Digital Disk is concerned...well we have a new PC team ready to break out of the cupboard! They've been coding and producing the PC mag day and night and (having given us a sneak preview) I can say it certainly looks up to the standard we've all come to expect from Digital Disk. Anyway, the new, revised version of Digital Disk PC will be coming out not long after christmas in time for the release of issue 6. But don't worry PC users (if there are any reading this), you won't miss out on the extra articles to be found in the xmas issue 5 of DD, because all the specials will be included in issue 6 of the PC version. This will make for a huge issue!! ...And many thanks for the compliments!! - Ben -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~5And there we have it. A small selection of the large number of letters we have received from people ordering Digital Disk. Feel free to write into us about absolutely anything really, and we shall try our utmost to answer them.
