CHESS DEMOS (C) AUTOCHESS 1994   : SEPTEMBER 1994 UPDATE

 This disk contains demo versions of 4 chess utility programs written
 by Bill Jordan, Australian national master and FIDE master. 
 The author has extensive experience in coaching and has written a
 chess course for Stott's Correspondence college.

 Instructions are found within the programs.

 CHESSPUZZLES contains only one file of puzzles (Mate in 1 in Level 1)
 This option will always be selected. The full version has about 1500
 puzzles of varying difficulty. 

 CHESSLIBRARY only has one file of openings, the Alekhines defence.
 The full version has about 1000 lines in all, in addition to a section
 on opening traps.

 CHESSRATER has only one game you can test yourself on.
 The full version has 40 games.

 CHESSDATABASE has one master game you can play over, and the option
 to save games to disk is disabled.

 All programs should run on any Amiga.

 The pieces are drawn in DeluxePaint(chess.iff) and hence you can redraw 
 them if you wish.

 These programs have taken many hundreds of hours to develop, but
 new features and improvements will be added according to user's requests.
 More data will be added according to demand. For example, the ChessPuzzles
 program has about 1500 positions. If there is enough interest, I can add
 another 1800 positions, including many of a very high level of difficulty.
 Programs are continually being enhanced.

 I am currently working on several new programs, including an analysis
 saving program, a database of chess ideas and a chess magazine on disk.

 This demo disk can be freely distributed through the public domain
 network and placed on BBSs etc.
 
 Programs are also available for the IBM PC.

 Programs were developed with the excellent Blitz Basic 2 language.
