   DESCRIPTION
     EGSshow is a viewing program for GIF, JPEG and IFF files on the EGS window
     system. This program is able to read the JPEG format as well as the GIF
     formats GIF87a, GIF89a and all future GIF files compatible with both of
     the above as well as valid IFF ILBM files, including EHB, HAM6, HAM8 and
     IFF24. The format of the file is detected automatically.

     The display window's open size is determined by the initial picture file
     and the maximum possible size on the EGS default screen. The picture
     itself is displayed in a scrolling gadget that lets you select the part
     you want to see.

     EGSShow needs a lot of memory for bigger pictures ( > 640 x 480) and EGS
     version 6 or higher. Selecting a lower colour depth than 24 bit for the
     EGS default screen will save you lots of memory.

   SHELL OPTIONS

     file
          The GIF, JPEG or IFF file to read at startup. If no file is initially
          specified, no picture is displayed first.

   WORKBENCH
     EGSShow can also be started from the workbench. To initially display a
     file, first click on the picture icon and double-click the EGSShow icon
     while simultaneously pressing the shift key.

   MENUS
     EGSShow has only one menu named "Project" which contains the following
     items:

     Open
          Opens file requester to display another picture.

     Picture info
          Displays info about the picture, ie. format, size and optional info.

     Keep size
          Checkmarked item that determines if the display window is resized for
          every newly loaded picture (default) or if its size is kept constant.

     About
          Displays copyright info.

     Quit
          Quits the program.

   TROUBLE GUIDE
     If no picture is displayed after loading, there is a number of reasons
     what might have gone wrong. First of all, you need enough memory. Then
     there are JPEG file formats that are not supported such as arithmetic
     encoding. The weird NewTek IFF24 format is not supported, only standard
     IFF24 is.

   CREDITS
     This software uses JPEG code from The Independant JPEG Group Version 4 and
     the GIF decoder written by Steven A. Bennett. IFF support by Dietmar
     Heidrich.
